Catholic wedding traditions – When planning one, there are elements of traditional rituals a couple should choose to include in the ceremony. Some of these decisions depend on who else go to it. Choose rituals is one way the couple express their originality. The Catholic Church encourages engaged couples confess before the wedding. This allows them to enter the sacred marriage with a clear conscience. If you confess often, do it individually with your regular confessor a day or two before the ceremony.
Although not officially within the Catholic wedding traditions hierarchy in the United States, the Unity Candle is still a popular tradition. After the couple said their vows and the priest gives them the nuptial blessing, leads the blessing of the candle. The priest goes out two candles on either side of the altar and the couple lights a large candle in the middle symbolizing that have become one .
